Domain data steward- Shared Platforms & DevOps

If so, we have an exciting opportunity in our “Shared Platforms & DevOps area”. Being the data steward, you will be supporting the management of data in several supporting systems like Kafka, together with a data steward team that spans across BEC. From a position in our nice offices in Warsaw your job will involve collaboration with colleagues across our locations in Roskilde and Herning. 

You will join our team of Data Stewards, which is part of BEC’s Enterprise Data Management in the Architecture area. Using your business knowledge and working actively together with information specialists improving BEC’s information model to enable our customers and our own use of data in a well-structured manner. Enterprise Data Management oversees BEC's processing of data as a pivotal asset, in close collaboration with the business domains. 

Taking up the key role as Data steward you will be proactive in providing a clear direction for the business domains on how to treat data as an asset by focusing on managing data, minimizing risks and adhering to regulatory standards. 

At BEC, we value regular in-office collaboration, but also offer the flexibility to work remotely for up to 8 days per month. You will report to head of Domain Data Architecture, Rasmus Kjærem Nielsen. 

Primary task and responsibilities include: 

  • Collect and maintain use cases for data and contribute to requirements breakdown
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop the information model representing the area and align models across BEC. Contribute to our overall architecture being the guiding light on our data vision
  • Support teams developing API’s, events or other data models in accordance with the information model
  • Collaboration with the rest of Enterprise Data Management area to continuously improve data governance and the way we work
  • Communicate with key stakeholders on all levels to improve how we work with data on all levels of our organization
  • Ensuring the integrity by e.g., identifying data quality issues, maintaining critical data, data validations etc. 

To succeed you will have:   

  • Love working with data with experience earned either through a relevant education or by practical experience
  • Structured and analytic approach to problem solving
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) 
  • Relevant education on bachelor level 
  • Good communication and sense making skills to break down complex topics for various audiences
  • A mindset geared towards teamwork, forward-thinking, and a holistic approach

It’s nice-to-have: 

  • Knowledge of metadata management and the value which can be leveraged by utilizing the data in daily operations or reduce operational risk
  • Worked within the financial sector and/or as a data steward – but if you have a “go do”-attitude and passion for data, we would like to hear from you!
