About our research
Our research focuses on both basic and clinical studies within metabolism and metabolic diseases. We aim to generate new insights into the liver as a metabolic organ through preclinical and clinical trials, exploring how diseases impact liver function and its interaction with other organs. We focus particularly on gut hormones, especially glucagon, and their roles in both health and disease. Our methods range from developing new laboratory assays, conducting in vitro and in vivo animal studies, performing clinical trials in healthy individuals and patients, to utilizing modern "omics" methods and large international databases.
