International Client Management – Fire Safety in Marine & Construction

Are you an experienced Consultant or Client Director with a strong international background in the construction or maritime industry? Do you excel in client management, possess a strong network, and understand how to tap into clients’ value chains effectively? If so, you might be the one we are looking for.

Your role:

Your role at DBI will be to manage the client relations and set the right team, who can exceed client expectations. Your clients will primarily be manufacturers of products for the construction, energy, and maritime sectors. Your daily collaboration will be with the Testing and Advanced Services departments as well as our subsidiary, DBI Certification, which assists these clients with product development, fire testing, product certification, and other fire safety-related services. The position is highly international, and your main task will be to expand your customer portfolio with new clients while also servicing existing customers.

You will be part of the sales department, which includes five client management consultants working across DBI’s business areas. You will share your business area with one of your colleagues. Additionally, you will collaborate with the marketing department, where a colleague is dedicated to your business area. You will report to the head of Customers & Relations.

The position involves 70-100 travel days per year.

Your key competencies:

  • You understand how to deliver customer value in a technical service industry
  • You are self-driven, proactive, and have a desire to make a difference
  • You are comfortable operating at all levels from senior management to lab technicians
  • It is important that you have a good understanding of technology
  • You are collaborative, trustworthy, good at building relationships, and meet colleagues and clients with a smile
  • You communicate well in written and spoken English—knowledge of German would be a plus but is not a requirement
  • You are accustomed to using digital tools, such as video meetings and CRM
