Who are we?

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is Denmark’s largest, and a world leading international NGO - one of the few with a specific expertise in forced displacement. You are going to join the team of Donor & Audit Advisors in Operational Finance Division (OFD), part our HQ-Finance, Risk and Supply Chain Department (FRISC) that aims to provide qualitative and standardised financial support services to DRC operations, while ensuring enhanced financial performance and resource capacities at the operational level.

About the job
The Finance Advisor will be responsible of the technical financial coordination and oversight of the DANIDA SPA framework agreement for DRC. Be a business partner to Partnerships, Advocacy & External Relations (PEAR) department, and in particular the Institutional Donor Audit (IDA) Unit, regarding SPA. You will need to collaborate extensively with our business controlling team in HQ, but also with the finance teams in around 40 legal entities around the world.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Coordination and oversight of the technical financial aspects of the Danida SPA, in close collaboration with the Danida SPA Coordinator in the PAER division and the Business Controller team
  • Advice and oversight of the adequate setup and control of the SPA in Dynamics 365
  • Monitoring consolidated spending and compliance on the SPA and flagging risks and issues
  • Timely preparation and control of SPA financial donor deliverables, reports and budget updates
  • Focal point for questions regarding Danida financial compliance and translation of financial donor compliance into clear standardized streamlined operational workflows
  • Regular engagement with technical financial counterparts in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and other SPA partners, such as in the SPA partners’ Financial, Administration and Compliance network.
  • Coordination with and advisory to the Donor Audit Unit for the yearly SPA audit
  • Contribute to the development standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Global Framework Agreements and support streamlining of processes for Global Framework Agreements.                                                    

 

About you

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have solid experience with managing financial complex grants – with experience in particularly DANIDA SPA, and you take charge of the stage like a true professional. You also should have a profound love for finance, and you believe that you can be the missing link between program, Finance and external stakeholders.

  • Moreover, we also expect the following:University degree or equivalent within a relevant area (finance, business management, accounting)
  • Experience in financial management of framework grants, of Danish MFA for ideally 5 years. Prior experience with the DANIDA SPA modality is a significant asset.
  • Knowledge of international institutional donor requirements.
  • Excellent user of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Power BI & Microsoft Office.
  • Relationship building and networking skills.
  • Good communication skills, with an interest in developing and disseminating donor compliance guidelines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English (expert), Danish is desirable.


We offer.

Contract length: Permanent (37 hours per week including lunch)

Work Place: Borgergade 10, Copenhagen Denmark.

Start date: 1st of August 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC (fuldmægtig niveau). This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
