Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 700 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2024 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
DRC is currently looking for a Shelter & Settlements Manager to join our team in Chernihiv.
About the job
DRC is managing its operations in Ukraine through its country office in Kyiv, and it has established offices in L´viv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro. The Shelter manager will be in charge of managing DRC Shelter operations in the North area (Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts) including apartment and house repairs, upgrade of collective shelters, and repair of educational and/or health infrastructures. The position will be based in Chernihiv with regular travels to Sumy.
The position will include the management of approximately 10 national staff.

About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least 3 years' experience in Shelter and WASH NGO projects and at least 3 years' experience with people management. Moreover, we also expect the following:

We offer.
Contract length: 12 months renewable depending on performance and funding.
Level: F2
Designation of Duty Stations: Chernihiv, Rest and Recuperation (RnR) for internationals, Non-Family duty station – Unaccompanied.
Start date: As soon as possible.
