Emergency Assistant

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations. 

DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 700 staff in Ukraine and will continue to implement humanitarian response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.

DRC is currently looking for a Emergency  Assistant for its activities in Kharkiv

 About the job

This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to country operations while overseeing country activities.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 

  • Administrative and technical support
  • Carry out basic tasks within sector area (e.g. data collection, distribution of non-food kits)
  • Carry out administrative tasks and complete payment tools and other required documents
  • Follow given work plans and guidelines

About you 

To be successful in this role we expect you to have minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.

 Moreover, we also expect the following:                                                                                                

  • Experience in administrative tasks
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Experience with following standard procedures and guidelines
  • English level-Elementary
  • Fluency in local language

We offer:
Contract length: 3-months, renewable after satisfactory probation period. 
Band: I non-Manager
Designation of Duty Station: Kharkiv

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National Staff.
