Supply Chain Assistant (Procurement )

ABOUT THE JOB

DRC’s Economic Recovery aims to improve rural livelihoods and resilience of target groups, including men, women, boys, girls, youth, and persons with disabilities. DRC is seeking an agriculture officer for Kunar office to support the team in implementing EC Life project activities. The project aims to protect and stabilize rural livelihoods and build resilience of people and communities in Afghanistan. The project seeks to maintain essential services in agricultural livelihoods, promote rural businesses and income-generating activities, and strengthen community engagement and participation to support community-led development, social cohesion, and peace. The agriculture officer will be responsible for supporting the planning, managing, and reporting of agricultural components for the project. The position holder will work closely with the EcRec manager, team leader and field officers and target groups to design and implement agricultural interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Respect and control DRC procedures
  • Support the Procurement department with completing multiple procurements to deadlines and ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed and up to date
  • Organizes events, arranges lunch, refreshment and all required arrangement with vendors and technical team
  • Coordinate closely with Finance department to ensure all documentation is correct for payments of suppliers
  • Focus on transparency and accountability of the organization.
  • Other duties as requested by line manager.

Purchasing

  • Ensure that Order Requests are correctly filled and it is authorized correctly by authorized person. 
  • Collect quotations and produce Purchase Requests following DRC procurement processes
  • Update relevant databases under the supervision of the line manager
  • Maintain honesty and integrity when purchasing and collecting quotations from suppliers
  • Ensure to keep update of procurement follow up form.

Filing

  • Ensure a proper filing system of procurement documents in closed coordination with procurement Officer (procurement ).
  • Support with providing accurate and updated procurement documentation in case of audit
  • Ensure information flow with relevant departments.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies: 

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with I- NGOs within the humanitarian organization in the field of Supply chain- procurement.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Good level of proficiency in Word, PPT and Windows Excel.
  • Excellent inter-personal, communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work with people from various groups and backgrounds.

Education/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree University Degree in Bachelor of business administration , and social sciences, and or other relevant degree to the position.

Languages:

  • English (Written and Spoken) – Fair
  • Dari / Pasto (Written and Spoken) – Fluent

We Offer:

  • Contract length: to 31st of December 2024 with the possibility of Extension.
  • Band: NMI
  • Designation of Duty Station: Based in Area Office East- Jalalabad  
  • DRC has Flexible working hours for Females staff as per DRC Policy.
  • 13th month’s salary Will be paid by end of each month with salary.
  • Top-up credit card as per office regulations.
  • 1+1 Health Insurance will be provided by DRC.
