French speaking Accountant /Finance Assistant

Since the launch in 2013, NORMAL has experienced rapid growth, opening around 700 stores and establishing a strong presence in eight markets. To secure continued growth, we are now want to expand our finance department with yet another Accountant / Finance assistant. As our new finance assistant, you will become part of a team of 23 dedicated colleagues and play an important role in the organisation's future growth.

Responsibilities and tasks
As an international organization, we wish to strengthen our relationship with the French part of the organization and with French business partners and suppliers. As an Accountant/Finance assistant, you will have your own areas of responsibility, but you will also be part of a culture where we help each other. Your tasks will include:

  • Responsibility for the collaboration with our French colleagues (based in Paris);
  • Assist with the control of the payment flows, including support in making the payments;
  • Recording financial transactions like expenses, purchases and vouchers;
  • Communicating with French-speaking vendors and entities;
  • When needed, providing support to the finance team in other markets.

About you
You are open-minded and positive, like to get involved in various assignments and thrive on solving tasks independently. You are a team player and have a high sense of responsibility and high work ethics – meaning that you are willing to go the extra mile to achieve the best result together with your colleagues.

Moreover, you:

  • have some years of experience with bookkeeping
  • must communicate fluently in French as well as English, both in writing and orally
  • are familiar with Excel.

NORMAL is a Danish-owned retail chain. The first store opened in the Danish city of Silkeborg in April 2013, and since then more than 600 stores have opened in Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Finland, Portugal and Spain.

NORMAL sells normal products at abnormal prices. The product range comprises well-known brands within categories such as skin care, oral care, shampoo, makeup and cleaning agents. All products sell at fixed low prices.

But NORMAL is much more than fixed low prices and branded goods. The goal is for the customers to always get a new and unique experience when visiting one of the stores. Therefore, the permanent assortment of well-known branded goods is continuously supplemented by new and exciting items that find their way to the shelves and podiums.

The maze-like store set-up invites customers to go treasure hunting for products from known and unknown brands, and there will always be a new surprise waiting just around the corner.
