Every month, hundreds of new products make their way to Flying Tiger Copenhagen stores worldwide, spanning various categories such as toys, kitchenware, office supplies, personal care, home accessories, and electronics. Before these products hit the shelves, they undergo thorough evaluation and approval by our Product Compliance Officers.

 

This is the job:
As Product Compliance Officer within electronics, you will be responsible for ensuring that our electronic products comply with international product safety regulations. You will guarantee that the labeling on our packaging is accurate for the relevant market. This requires you to delve into electronic standards and various directives.

The position also involves daily contact with suppliers and internal buyers who are developing our products. You will be responsible for making risk assessments for all our electronic products, foreseeing pitfalls and working on steering clear of them for each product. Our product range is broad, so you will need to address everything from light chains and lamps to remote-controlled cars and wireless headphones.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure all products meet safety standards.
  • Ensure compliant labeling for each product
  • Give internal updates on upcoming EU electronics legislation and implementation of new requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of compliance activities and test results.
  • Stay up-to-date with international regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to other departments regarding compliance issues.

 

This is you:
To thrive in this role, you should be passionate about electronic products and enjoy getting hands-on with the technical details. You need to be able to assess when a product requires extra time and when we need to expedite the process. and capable of clear and effective communication with both colleagues and external partners. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.

There are several paths to this role. You might have a specialized education in electronics (e.g., as an electronics technician, produktionsteknolog or similar) supplemented with a good knowledge of retail, or you have compliance background and have previously worked with electronics Alternatively, you may have worked in the retail industry and possess a solid understanding of electronics and a passion for that area.
