Cloud Engineer for the Application Response Team

Picture yourself in a role where you

  • Secure and improve our cloud solutions
  • Identify and solve critical breakdowns at DSB and design future prevention strategies
  • Operate and improve the stability of our applications running on-premise and in the cloud

“The purpose of my work - ensuring the smooth transportation of many people every day - means more to me than I initially thought,” says Thomas, Site Reliability Manager in the Response Team.

Welcome to the Application Platform Team

Come and be part of a team where technologies and innovation come together to create robust solutions.

We are a team of 4 members, committed to ensuring the optimal operation of our applications and systems – and delivering quick responses to technical problems.

Our goal is to consistently improve our IT infrastructure through coding and automation.

We support all elements in DSB’s infrastructure, and you will be the subject matter expert on public cloud in the team.

Our team provides coherence between IT infrastructure and applications with a full technical overview.

We prioritize sharing knowledge with colleagues from various departments and external suppliers, leveraging our comprehensive technical understanding of infrastructure and systems.

Duty roster

Everyone in the team is part of a 24/7 schedule. You will be on call every four weeks and compensated in salary accordingly.

We are good at covering for each other, when we have personal commitments during our shifts.

Breakdowns are infrequent, but when they occur, we take responsibility for resolving the technical issues in collaboration with the Situation Management, experts, and system administrator teams associated with the incident.

You can work remotely for up to two days and during on-call outside office hours.

Your everyday life as a Cloud Engineer

Your primary task is to ensure the stability and efficiency of DSB's cloud applications.

A typical workday will begin with a quick team meeting, where you coordinate with your colleagues on the day's priorities. After that, part of your morning can be spent monitoring and troubleshooting our systems to identify any issues.

In the event of a breakdown, you use your knowledge to proactively address the problem by listening to all parties involved, examining previous similar experiences, and gathering the necessary information to effectively resolve the issue.

Once the crisis has been handled, you will focus on root cause analysis and the preparation and implementation of improvement measures together with the team to safeguard against similar incidents going forward.

When systems are running normally, the focus is on continuous improvement, for example using automation scripts, right sizing or improving monitoring.

Your key responsibilities will be

  • Early identification and response to potential system failures
  • Coordination between different teams during critical breakdowns
  • Development and implementation of preventive measures based on previous incidents
  • Optimization and automation in daily operational activities

Are you our new Cloud Engineer for the Application Response team?

  • Programming skills in PowerShell, Bicep, or Terraform
  • Experience related to Yaml pipelines and handling operating systems, databases and middleware applications

As a person, you thrive on a changeable everyday life. Your working style is characterized by meticulous attention to detail without losing track even in a time-sensitive situation.

You are comfortable when it comes to communicating within the team and across the organization.

Team orientation isn't just a buzzword for you; It's your way to succeed in your day-to-day operations with us.
