Braathens has a long history in aviation, dating back to 1946 when it was founded as Braathens S.A.F.E. The airline initially focused on international routes before becoming a major player in Scandinavian aviation. Over the years, Braathens expanded through acquisitions and rebranding, eventually leading to the creation of Braathens Regional Airlines (BRA) in 2016. Under the BRA brand, we operated domestic flights in Sweden until the end of 2024, when we transitioned into our current role as an ACMI and charter operator.

Today, Braathens (formerly BRA) specializes in one main business area: ACMI. Our mission is to deliver tailored solutions that meet our customers' operational needs, ensuring efficiency and reliability throughout the process.

As an ACMI provider, Braathens delivers services to leading airlines.

Since our first departure, Braathens has been at the forefront of innovation in the aviation industry. In 2009, the company was the first commercial airline in the world to receive environmental certification according to ISO 14001. Since our restart after the pandemic, BRA has remained committed to leading and driving the development of more sustainable aviation.

Braathens has its headquarters in Bromma.
