Do you want to shape how complex business decisions are translated into sound accounting?
As Senior Technical Accounting Specialist, you'll be Mind Energy's centre of excellence for IFRS and technical accounting. You'll provide technical accounting expertise on complex transactions, shape Group accounting policies and ensure accounting decisions and financial reporting support a rapidly growing and increasingly complex international energy trading business.
Working across Financial Controlling, Accounting, Risk, Treasury, Tax, Trading and Business Development, you'll translate complex IFRS requirements into practical accounting solutions and help shape accounting decisions behind new products, commercial initiatives and strategic business opportunities.
You'll be the go-to expert for technical accounting across the Group, ensuring that complex accounting questions are resolved consistently, pragmatically and in accordance with IFRS.
This is an opportunity to further develop and shape Mind Energy's technical accounting capability. You'll influence accounting policies, governance and key business decisions while supporting the company's continued growth.
DIVE INTO WHAT YOUR DAY-TO-DAY TASKS WILL BE
From complex IFRS assessments to Group accounting policies and financial reporting, you'll help create consistency, transparency and confidence across the organisation. This includes:
-
Provide technical accounting expertise on IFRS and complex accounting matters, while developing Group accounting policies, technical guidance and position papers that ensure consistent IFRS application across the Group.
-
Assess the accounting implications of new products, contracts, energy trading activities and strategic initiatives, translating technical requirements into practical accounting solutions.
-
Partner with Financial Controlling, Accounting, Risk, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Trading and external auditors to ensure well-founded accounting decisions across the Group.
JOIN A TEAM OF MINDFUL ACHIEVERS
You'll join our Financial Controlling team, where technical discussions are part of everyday work and accounting quality matters in every decision. Questions are explored from different angles, conclusions are grounded in robust technical assessments, and you'll gain direct insight into how accounting supports commercial decision-making in an international energy trading business.
Building specialist knowledge is a shared priority. Colleagues challenge each other's thinking, exchange knowledge openly and work together to strengthen technical accounting capability across the Finance organisation.
This role is based at our Aarhus office, with flexibility to work from home when it fits the work and the team. Expect around 5-10 days of travel each year.
LET'S SWITCH THE FOCUS TO YOU
The questions without straightforward answers are often the most interesting ones. You don't settle for the first answer. You keep exploring until the accounting treatment is clear and the reasoning behind it is solid.
We imagine you bring:
WE MIGHT BE BIASED, BUT IT IS QUITE AWESOME HERE
People here care about doing things well and creating a place people genuinely enjoy being part of. We like to hack the everyday, from breakfast and lunch made in-house with organic ingredients to in-house massage, something in the freezer when the day runs late and the occasional “Just Because” surprise. You also get five Switch Days, equal to a seventh holiday week, giving you extra flexibility and room to recharge throughout the year.
Through Mind Club, people come together around everything from padel and Football Shirt Fridays to clay pigeon shooting and Christmas afternoons with your family and Santa. And with Mind Academy, you grow alongside sharp and curious colleagues who challenge ideas, share knowledge and help each other level up. These are just some of the things that make us special. It’s easier to experience in person.
We’re mindful achievers. It shapes how we work, think and grow together, while recognising that well-being, care and integrity matter just as much as the results we create. This is a place to focus, grow and achieve more.
