Product Owner - DevOps

We are searching for a Product owner for DevOps

The position is based at BECs primary offices, and you will join our Platform Engineering Product organization. As a product owner you will have responsibility for developing the internal DevOps product delivered by the domain Software & Quality Engineering Support. The domain pursues state-of-the-art developer tooling and pipelines, strategic enablers, and platforms with a high degree of self-service and automation to the benefit of internal customers in the BEC organization.

The product owner role offers the opportunity to define and modify the internal DevOps product and set the roadmap for DevOps evolution in a hybrid cloud setting, based on decided outcomes and needed impact, resulting from managed changes to developer tool stack, competences and behaviour.

At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely. Your direct manager will be product manager Michael Ager Carlsen.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

  • You will work closely with other product owners contributing to the DevOps tool chain and with the delivery domain Software & Quality Engineering Support to build a roadmap for enabling DevOps across BEC.
  • You will set the path for the DevOps enablement offering, ensuring the right outcomes through simplification, automation and self-service-enablement, increasing development performance in the organization
  • Cooperation with stakeholders in the delivery organization – especially the DevOps team -architecture and the internal customers are essential.
  • The workweek will be split between working with the DevOps team, working with fellow POs, and work in the organization with internal customers and other stakeholders
  • You are responsible for maintaining a five-quarter roadmap and to align that with the delivery domain on capacity and with other stakeholders on dependencies
  • You also ensure a team backlog and team support as the customer representative. All work is in the backlog, including both platform development and operations and maintenance (…yes, we take our own medicine!)
  • As teams consists of professionals from both Poland and Denmark, some travel between Roskilde and Warsaw must be expected
  • Finally, you must ensure alignment with the developer manager for the DevOps team on capacity and competences.

To succeed you will have: 

  • You have a deep understanding of DevOps processes and tooling. And you have experience with ‘what good looks like’ – both from your own practice, and from experience with enabling DevOps for others.
  • Your knowledge of platform and modern development technologies relevant for DevOps adoption, including providing automation and self-services, are solid.
  • You have a good understanding of the interplay between DevOps-practices, the DevOps tool stack in a hybrid cloud setting, and preferably, the requirements for behavioral change in teams to build DevOps maturity across in the organization.
  • Organizational cooperation and stakeholder management comes natural to you, and you enjoy working with highly competent colleagues across the organization.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is expected 
  • Preferably, you have an educational background at master’s level within IT and 3-5 years of experience from a similar position working with DevOps and related technologies.
  • A deep interest in technology and how to make it work for people
