We are searching for a Senior software engineer (Java)

For this role, we are looking for someone to join Nykredit – one of the banks BEC Poland works closely with.

Nykredit is both a bank and a mortgage provider owned by an association of customers. Being customer-owned, they are in a unique position to give something back to their customers when they are doing well. Together they can simply do more for their customers and for society.

This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw and you will join our Integrations Team. The team excels in managing a broad range of REST/SOAP services and supports various applications for refunds/discounts, referrals, calculators, customer hierarchies, rating systems and a popular new service for calculating loan for electronic car. They are venturing into cloud technologies with projects like electric car systems and Angular-based front-end applications

At Nykredit, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to eight days per month. Your direct manager will be Morten Bundgaard Selmer.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain robust server-side applications and RESTful APIs using Java, with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Utilize Azure API Gateway for efficient API routing, security, and monitoring, ensuring best practices in API management are followed.
• Apply Domain-Driven Design principles to accurately model and integrate complex business domains into our software solutions.
• Implement comprehensive API security measures, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT validation, and other security protocols to protect against threats.
• Ensure compatibility with various API protocols and standards, including REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and OpenAPI, to support a wide range of integration scenarios.
• Participate in the establishment and enforcement of API governance standards across the development lifecycle to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve security concerns, maintain high coding standards, and adapt to evolving technology trends

To succeed you will have:    

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in Java programming and REST API development.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure API Gateway and its features.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and its application in software development.
• Strong understanding of API security protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
• Experience with various API protocols and standards support, such as REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and OpenAPI.
• Knowledge of API governance frameworks and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• A curious mind with an open nature and desire to knowledge-share with others.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

It’s nice-to-have:

• Experience with other cloud platforms and API management tools.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, HTML5, CSS) for seamless integration with back-end services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
