We are searching for a React software engineer

For this role, we are looking for someone to join Nykredit – one of the banks BEC Poland works closely with.

Nykredit is both a bank and a mortgage provider owned by an association of customers. Being customer-owned, they are in a unique position to give something back to their customers when they are doing well. Together they can simply do more for their customers and for society.

This position is based at our friendly office in central Warsaw, Poland and you will join our department Totalkredit Business Mortgage. The team is in charge of developing new solutions for the business mortgage area in Nykredit and Totalkredit, an area with increased strategic focus in the coming years. You will participate in delivering solutions to enable the continuous growth of this business area, e.g. helping users complete their work in a more efficient and secure manner.

The position as React software engineer offers the opportunity leverage your experience and help increase the maturity of the team in working with modern frontend technology (React), in close cooperation with other frontend teams in Nykredit. You will be joining a diverse but cohesive team that values cooperation and team spirit by helping each other in achieving the goals of the team. At Nykredit, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to 8 days per month. Your direct manager will be Tobias Eschen Gundtoft.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

• Develop frontend web applications with React based on design and requirements from the business responsible departments.
• Participate in mentoring and teaching less experienced frontend developers.
• Work closely with team architect and backend developers to make sure frontend fits with backend or identify and highlight gaps.
• Cooperate with other frontend teams and developers in building and maintaining a shared front-end component library
• Participate in breakdown and estimation of tasks and requirements in close corporation with Business Analysts, UX designers, Product Owner and other team members.
• Take part in the daily operations of the team, e.g. facilitate daily standup, retrospectives, 2nd level support and maintenance.
• Possibility to visit Nykredit HQ in Denmark for occasional business trips (1/2 times a year)

To succeed you will have:    

• +5 years of experience with React/Frontend development
• A curious mind with an open nature and desire to knowledge-share with others.
• Team-player mindset
• Able to communicate and cooperate with colleagues in a friendly and constructive manner
• Able to understand and challenge the business needs and processes
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Relevant educational/academic background

It’s nice-to-have:

• Experience from working in large organizations
• Experience from working in the financial services industry
• Experience from working in an Agile/Scrum team
• Knowledge on REST API’s and JAVA/backend applications
