Enterprise Architect for Banking Risk & Data

To further enhance our experienced team of Enterprise Architects, we are seeking an Enterprise Architect with a primary focus on the Banking Risk & Data domains in BEC.

The Enterprise Architecture team develops a clear view on target and transition architectures for clustered capabilities, provides architectural guidelines, defines and enables a clear decommissioning roadmap, orchestrates the gathering of technology risk assessments of the current portfolio and technology assets, and measures progress on architectural transformation through tangible metrics.

The position is based either at our headquarter office in Roskilde (Denmark) or in our Warsaw (Poland) office where you will join our Enterprise Architecture team which is an area in BECs Architecture division.

At BEC, we work in a hybrid remote model, coming into the office at least 3 days a week and the option of working remotely for 2 days. Your direct manager will be the head of Enterprise Architecture, Frank Kruse.

Primary task and responsibilities include

As an Enterprise Architect you will work closely with colleagues across BEC, primarily with enterprise, domain and team architects, but also with stakeholders from teams in our Demand and Delivery organizations.

Your primary tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Defining Enterprise Architecture directions, principles, standards & guidelines, aligned to BEC strategy & business goals
  • Developing and maintaining a multi-year strategic target architecture for the Banking Risk & Data domains, supporting company investment plans, transformation roadmaps and modern technology landscape
  • Conducting design reviews as a Design Authority member, supporting domain architects towards reliable and rationale design intents and specifications
  • Supporting implementation of best practices in areas of data governance, data quality and data security based on close collaboration with our Data Management teams
  • Contributing to the different communities and governance bodies in BEC as applicable and support a range of strategic initiatives in BEC.

To succeed you will have

A master’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field of study.

Since we are looking for an experienced profile, you will also have:

  • At least 5 years of documented experience in a relevant enterprise or domain architecture role, preferably within a financial services enterprise. Previous experience with architecture in the risk and data domains is a clear advantage
  • Hands-on, demonstrated experience with architecting enterprise data platforms, technology selections and business platforms (preferably leveraging cloud-based technologies) supporting analytical, ML and regulatory reporting use cases
  • Advanced multi-disciplinary knowledge from working across multiple data and analytics disciplines
  • Understanding of the theory, design and pros & cons of specialized IT technologies and patterns like Data Vault, Event-driven architecture and implications of different options and paths of action.
  • Knowledge of the Azure data stack, Nasdaq AxiomSL, Calypso, SAS FCP
  • Understanding of the complexity of the regulatory environment based on EU directives like Basel IV, IFRS 9, BCBS 239 and other EBA recommendations
  • Understanding of cross-domain capabilities supporting Risk & Data domains like data governance (data ownership, data quality), business reconciliation, reference data implementation and consortium/corporate data utilization
  • Demonstrated experience with integration technologies, methods and architecture patterns to support batch, real-time and near-real-time data integration to support operational, analytical and reporting use cases
  • Practical architecture modelling skills (knowledge of ArchiMate will be a plus)
  • Excellent skills as a team player and an effective communicator
