Development Lead - Nykredit

Development Lead for Market Data Products and Warsaw site lead in Wealth Technology

For this role, we are looking for someone to join Nykredit – one of the banks BEC Poland works closely with.

Nykredit is both a bank and a mortgage provider owned by an association of customers. Being customer-owned, they are in a unique position to give something back to their customers when they are doing well. Together they can simply do more for their customers and for society.

In Wealth Middle Office & Data Technology, we are responsible for supporting the Wealth Management Middle Office value chain with technology. We are covering 3 areas being two development teams, called Middle Office Products and Market Data Products, as well as a large technical migration programme. Main tech stack is Microsoft based with SQL Server, applications in .Net/C# and we are in the process of building new services in Azure cloud.

As a Development Lead with us, you will be responsible for the Market Data Products team with responsibility for 6 skilled colleagues in Warsaw, which consist of 5 software engineers and 1 data engineer. We are currently hiring 2 more engineers to the team. In addition, we are fortunate to have a strong product owner managing the product backlog. The product owner is allocated from the market data business team. In Market Data Products, the main focus is on exposing high quality Market Data end-of-day and in real-time to data consumers widely in Nykredit.

As a Development Lead you will have functional reference to Development Manager Miguel Martinez Picazo, head of Wealth Middle Office & Data Technology, and HR reference to Amel Pasic, who is office head in Nykredit Poland.

 

You must be the team's right-hand man

As a Development Lead in Market Data Products, you are expected to lead the way in the team, and be a tech partner for the Market Data business team in Wealth Management. We expect you to have a basic understanding of the business domain, as well as the ability to understand the needs and requirements of our business partners. You will have full HR and management responsibility for your team members, and as a leader you must be a role model and set the direction for the team.

In general, as a Development Lead, you must:

  • Build a high-performing team that can effectively deliver on the team's roadmap
  • Be a sparring partner for the team's product owner, as well as have in-depth knowledge of the team's backlog and the long-term roadmap
  • Take responsibility for the team's well-being and efficiency
  • Ensure quality and compliance with common standards and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure that the development lives up to architectural principles and guidelines.
  • Be responsible for ongoing recruitment and performance follow-up

For the sake of the company's collaboration internally and externally, it is important that you speak and write fluent English at a high level of business and IT technology.

The position is located in Warsaw. Some travel to Copenhagen must be expected, as our business partners and other teams are located in Denmark.

To succeed you:

  • will have experience working in IT industry in development teams,
  • will have experience working in capital markets,
  • will have university degree in technology (or related),
  • will have have good communication skills and you are outgoing and empathetic,
  • understand of the value of collaborating with your colleagues,
  • are curious, proactive, relevant - and have ideas as to how Nykredit's digital ambitions can become reality, and participate constructively in the dialogue with the company about the way forward,
  • ensure transparency in decisions, progress and results,
  • have an eye for how to best contribute to the achievement of both your own and the team's goals, and understand the importance of targeted, accommodating dialogue with both colleagues and partners.
