Purchasing Officer

Purchasing Officer

Braathens is a Scandinavian airline with roots dating back to 1946. Today, we operate regional services for Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) using a single-type fleet of ATR 72-600 aircraft, supported by a long-term partnership that ensures stability and predictability.

We are a close-knit organization with short decision-making paths and a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and care.

Our modern ATR 72-600 fleet is well suited for efficient regional operations, combining low fuel consumption with high flexibility. Flights are primarily conducted within Scandinavia as part of our production for SAS.

About the role

Braathens is looking to strengthen our purchasing department with an experienced Purchaser. You will be part of a small team with joint responsibility for both line and base maintenance requirements.

In this role, you will ensure the availability of materials across all operations, including contracted external MRO stations. The position combines operational and strategic purchasing, covering urgent AOG requirements as well as supplier analysis, follow-up, and price negotiations.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders such as Planning and Engineering, as well as external suppliers, requiring strong communication and collaboration skills.

Key responsibilities:
• Manage purchasing of spare parts for all maintenance operations
• Monitor, order, and follow up materials for MEL, defects, and stock replenishment across all stations
• Create and track purchase orders, with daily supplier contact
• Handle AOG situations and urgent material requirements
• Manage returns of unserviceable parts (U/S) and warranty claims
• Process incoming invoices and support related accounting activities
• Ensure documentation and traceability of material certificates (EASA Form 1, FAA, etc.)
• Support other logistics-related tasks

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as a purchaser
  • Good knowledge of varied logistics processes
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent proficiency in English

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Experience working in the aviation/MRO industry or another highly regulated industry
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations, including EASA Part CAMO and Part 145
  • Experience working with the aircraft maintenance system AMOS
  • Experience with process-oriented work methods such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar
  • Good knowledge of customs-related matters
  • Good knowledge of environmental-related matters

You will be working in a small team where tasks span a wide range of responsibilities. While we have defined roles, we do not hesitate to assist each other when needed. At Braathens, we believe that small things done together strengthen the team and create a strong sense of unity.

If you are a motivated and detail-oriented team player who wants to work in a qualified logistics process, do not hesitate to send in your application.
