Senior Researcher in automation and real-time systems

SINTEF Digital Department of Mathematics and Cybernetics is a leading research environment using mathematics and numerical methods for modelling, simulation, optimisation and real-time control of dynamical systems. 
The research group for automation and real-time systems works within industrial digitalization and applied research in distributed real-time monitoring and control systems. We have a substantial portfolio of national and international research and innovation projects within domains such as smart grid, maritime applications, industrial automation, robotic platforms and space applications. We are looking for dedicated researcher who combines research expertise within real-time systems with the interest for developing new projects with our customers. 
Our project portfolio is primarily towards industrial applications, and our researchers initiate and carry out projects in close cooperation with our customers and partners, including publishing both scientifically and in other channels. In cooperation with partners in Norway and abroad, you will contribute to the development and use of cybernetical methods and real-time systems for industrial applications within the digitalization of the electric grid, infrastructure and industrial automation. 
Your tasks within projects will include system architecture and analysis of real-time requirement, specification and adaption of digital platforms and communication technologies, system integration, and verification and validation of system solutions. It is important that you have the ability and interest to work with customers, business development, project applications and project management. 
A PhD degree within engineering cybernetics or similar is preferred, but candidates with other relevant education and comparable expertise from experience within industrial automation are also encouraged to apply. 
Experience within smart grid and one or more of the domains of the research group is a plus.
