Researchers in the field of machine learning and medical technology

The Medical Technology research group consists of 17 researchers, and is part of the Health department with approximately 60 employees. We work closely with clinicians and health professionals to develop and evaluate new diagnostics and treatment solutions. We are among the leading research groups in the field of ultrasound and image-guided therapy, and we develop solutions that are used in several clinical areas. 
 
Our research contributes to the creation of new companies in medical technology, new knowledge and new methods for better diagnostics and treatment. We have high scientific production, and a great commitment to our field of expertise. Our group is a research partner in CiUS, Centre for Innovative Ultrasound Solutions, headed by NTNU, and partner in the National advisory unit for ultrasound and image-guided therapy (www.usigt.org). 
 
Due to more projects and increased demand for our expertise, we are looking for two skilled, friendly and committed researchers! 
 
  1. For one of the positions, machine learning for image analysis and segmentation will be central. Work tasks will include developing, implementing and evaluating methods for real-time segmentation of ultrasound images. The methods will be implemented in our research platform CustusX (www.custusx.org), and the purpose is to create tools for better clinical decision support. 
  2. For the other position, work tasks will include research on technology for image-guided therapy, including the use of navigation technology and robots. Knowledge of machine vision, robotics, machine learning and medical technology is relevant for the position.
