Support Engineer

We are looking for an engaged colleague to join our support department. The department is responsible for assisting customers who have support agreements with Jotron, as well as handling other customer support inquiries. As a Support Engineer, you will play an important role in collaborating with customers and colleagues to deliver safety-critical communication solutions.

You will be part of the Support Department at our headquarters in Larvik, which currently consists of 13 team members. You will also be part of the global support team with colleagues at our locations in the UK, USA, and Singapore.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main tasks will involve providing technical support and service for our products and entire systems. Your role will primarily involve receiving inquiries from new and existing customers and addressing technical questions regarding installation, usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

 Jotron serves both civilian and military clients worldwide, and some travel is expected for supporting installations, training courses, upgrades, and equipment maintenance at customer sites. Over time, providing customer training will also become part of your responsibilities.

We are looking for a Support Engineer who is curious and eager to learn, with a strong interest in technology. You enjoy problem-solving and have a good understanding of systems, allowing you to quickly engage with different technical challenges. You thrive in customer-facing roles, maintaining a service-oriented approach when interacting with clients. You are independent, responsible, and structured, while also being a good team player who works well in collaboration. Additionally, you are flexible and adaptable to varying situations and tasks.

YOU SHOULD HAVE:

Degree in Engineering or a Related Field

Specific certifications or training in areas related to IT systems, networking, or maritime communication (such as GOC/ROC for maritime communication) would be advantageous, as these skills are directly related to the job responsibilities.

Experience in working with electronics and technical systems.

Experience working in international settings or with global customers can be beneficial as Jotron operates across multiple countries.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively with global teams and international customers.

Prior experience in customer-facing support or technical support roles in aviation, maritime, or communication sectors would be a plus.
