Job title              :     Technical Superintendent

Work place         :     Current Asset Location - Kakinada, India 

We are currently looking for a highly experienced Technical Superintendent to join our team on a rotational basis, working 4 weeks in Kakinada, India followed by 4 weeks leave. Reporting directly to the Rig Manager, the role is permanent and the successful candidate will provide technical support to operations and projects for our semi submersible drilling rig.  The successful candidate will satisfy the following requirements:

Role Requirements:

  • Ensure that CMMS and Vessel Modification Requests are used correctly. Develop the Planned Maintenance System and ensure all modifications are included.
  • Ensure that the MOU is maintained in accordance with supplier recommendations, regulatory requirements and standards and client contract requirements.
  • Ensure that relevant Safety Bulletins are managed as per company requirements.
  • Provide technical support for the MOU’s maintenance activities. Assist and develop contractor services to support the MOU’s maintenance.
  • Provide a cost-effective service ensuring the MOU’s equipment and systems are available when required.
  • Ensure that all new, modified and repaired equipment documentation is reviewed and forwarded on to the Document Controller on completion.
  • Identify and evaluate technical improvement opportunities. Assist Operations in updating information in manuals as required.
  • Prepare and control budgets with rig management.
  • Act as Technical Authority for technical-related standards for the Competence Assurance Management System.
  • Assist in maintaining a well-qualified, experienced, trained and motivated team offshore.
  • Provide a 24 hour on call duty service as required. Participating in the on-call rota.
  • Fill technical and/or project management positions in projects.
  • Assist Marketing in preparing bid packages as required.

Qualifications/Competencies:

  • University degree in Engineering, alternatively appropriate Electrical or Marine qualification.
  • Good knowledge of maintenance systems
  • Offshore experience with maintenance of mobile or fixed offshore MOUs.
  • Good knowledge of ISM, ISPS, and ISO certification processes.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Offshore survival and medical
