Payroll Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

This role will focus primarily on ensuring the effective management and operation of pay, benefits, and remuneration systems in Manor Farm. You will join a high performing, supportive and collaborative HR team and take the lead role on delivering a progressive compensation framework and optimum HR reward service in Manor Farm.  You will possess Compensation and Benefits expertise as well as pensions and payroll experience. You will have demonstrable experience of simplifying, aligning and improving our remuneration and benefits offering.

  • Responsible for the efficient and thorough management of the organisation's employee remuneration system.
  • Audit & review the provision of all benefits and harmonise and align across the wider business.
  • First point of contact in HR for all payroll, benefit and HRIS matters.
  • Manage our HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce) as a single source of truth.
  • Oversight of Payroll anomalies.
  • Sign off on weekly/monthly payroll processing in liaison with outsourced payroll provider and ensure compliance with all SLA's. 
  • Generation of Payroll/Labour report(s) from HRIS system Dayforce.
  • Monitor, track and prepare paperwork/reports for all new appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, redundancies, retirements etc., ensuring salary adjustments are applied accurately.
  • Analyse, prepare cost projections, and present information on salary issues throughout the year as required.
  • Provide support on HR budget management.
  • Full responsibility for the effective management of BIK, company phones, company cars, pension plans, DIS, employee expenses, staff vouchers, saving schemes and staff forms.
  • Assist in the creation and management of short- and long-term incentive plans.
  • Manage the annual review process.
  • Oversee and answer employee tax queries.
  • Ensure data integrity across all carriers and troubleshoot data errors as needed.
  • Assist with the management of all leave of absences (disability, maternity, etc.) and ensure policies, procedures and plan documentation are maintained pertaining to employee.
  • Evaluate and report to senior executives on the effectiveness of employee benefit programs.
  • Design compensation packages and bonus programs that align with the company's strategic plan.
  • End to end operation of the annual salary review and bonus cycle to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  • Devise, suggest and implement processes that improve our compensation cycle in ways that provide transparency, equity, and value for money to managers, employees, and shareholders.
  • Develop & implement new and better C&B policies and processes.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders to provide timely strategic advice for performance management, compensation, and benefits.
  • Conduct market analysis, job evaluations, salary modelling & pensions and benefits.
  • Evaluation and administration of other benefits
  • Draft and improve employee rewards and benefits communications to ensure the C&B offering is fully understood and appreciated by our employees to maximise value.
  • Conduct periodic payroll audits to ensure compliance.
  • Provide support on HR policy, projects and activities as required.

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in compensation, benefits & payroll, or human resources with an in-depth knowledge of core best practices in reward and remuneration.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with demonstrated experience of researching, analysing and synthesising data and information and re-presenting this in an accurate, succinct and relevant manner is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule and prioritise work, especially when working under pressure to tight deadlines, is essential.
  • Relevant experience in formulating and implementing HR and pay policies is essential.
  • Skills and experience in procuring external service providers and managing the ongoing contract, relationship and services with providers.
  • Knowledge of working with HRIS Ceridian Dayforce, or similar HR software/systems a distinct advantage.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Capability to communicate clearly and effectively with people at all levels within and outside the organisation, using both written and verbal skills.
  • Understanding of HR functional areas and practices.
  • Clear understanding of, and commitment to, professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.

Educational Qualifications

  • A third level qualification in a HR or business-related discipline is required.
  • Payroll Technician course desirable. IPASS
