Foodjob Nordic is now looking for an experienced Application Technician to join AKV’s Global Sales & Application team in Agro Food Park in Aarhus. As an Application Technician, your main task will be to perform trials on the use of a range of clean label and other specialty starch-based solutions. You will work side-by-side with the Senior Application Specialist in the AKV FoodLab. The position reports to the CCO in a very lean and flat organization with a high level of entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities and goals:
We are looking for an employee with an interest in laboratory and food technology to assist in the AKV FoodLab in Aarhus, where you will become part of the team. Here you will play an important role in relation to taking part in the ongoing laboratory work with a confident and collaborative team approach. The position will set a high standard of knowledge on the application of starches and interact strongly within technical support. It is important, that strong partnerships are formed and maintained within the team.

As an Application Technician in AKV FoodLab, your primary tasks will consist of:

• To assist the Senior Application Specialist with research by running trials of a broad range of applications in the FoodLab and conducting analysis and characterization of food products.
• Maintenance and cleaning of process equipment.
• Contribute where required in purchasing tasks for the FoodLab.
• Contact suppliers and identify needs for new raw materials.
• Ensure good handover of the task to colleagues.

Personal and professional skills:

• An interest in food production and preparation, enjoys practical work and has a structured approach to work tasks.
• Has experience from a food processing plant as a technician, but you may be eligible for the position with relevant practical education in food processing on a technician or bachelor’s degree level.
• Has experience with food analysis (an advantage, not a requirement)
• Is a confident user of the MS Office package.
• Has good knowledge of Danish and English, both written and spoken.
• Work effectively in a team environment with a good sense of community and creating new relationships and solutions.
• Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude with high levels of energy and drive to achieve targets.
