The JV Accounting team in the FSSC is responsible for the JV accounting processes in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Norway. The JV Accountants run the cost allocations, prepare the monthly JV billings, prepare recharge invoices and perform the treasury accounting.  The JV Accountants will work closely together with the asset controllers, the Accounts Payable team and the General Accounting team.

 

The Team Lead JV Accounting will ensure an efficient and effective delivery of the FSSC services to the various customers.

You will be expected to understand the numbers as well as motivate your team to achieve reporting deadlines and high quality output and also to realize continuous improvement of the JV accounting processes.

In this position you will report to the Head of FSSC. You will lead a team of 6 JV Accountants.

 

Main duties & responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly JV Accounting closing processes (accruals, time writing, allocation keys)

  • Responsible for running and checking the cost allocation, cutback and partner netting

  • Responsible for reviewing and issuing the monthly billings to JV partners

  • Manage the treasury accounting and cash flow forecasts

  • Review and follow-up on accounts receivable

  • Review balance sheet accounts reconciliations prepared by your team

  • Perform internal control activities and work on improving internal control

  • Work together with (internal) customers and key stakeholders to ensure integration, efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of FSSC services

  • Key point of contact for asset controllers, JV partners and auditors

  • Build and develop talent, and drive a continuous improvement mindset in your team

  • Supporting on a variety of ad hoc projects as required

 

Required qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting

  • At least 8 years of combined experience in an Accounting Firm and/or in industry working for an international group in a (leadership) role related to accounting and reporting

  • Relevant experience within the E&P sector and/or a FSSC is a big plus

  • Extensive experience with ERP tools, ideally SAP ECC

  • IT literate with advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel)

  • In-depth understanding of ERP based accounting processes

  • Good communications and interpersonal skills

  • Strong people management skills and a natural interest in developing your staff

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet strict deadlines. Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities

  • Excellent understanding of the critical success factors for FSSC as a reliable, effective and efficient business service provider

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a culture of continuous improvement, process optimization, and intellectual curiosity

  • Customer focused and ability to solve problems in an efficient and effective way

  • Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus
