We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team in Herning and help drive our growth in advanced blade sensing and optimization for the next generation of wind turbines.
About the Position
As Business Development Manager – BM&O, reporting to the Director of Business Development – BM&O, you will collaborate with our commercial and technical teams to support defining and implementing strategies that strengthen and expand our market position in Denmark and globally.
Blade Monitoring & Optimization ensures wind turbines operate efficiently by using advanced sensors and data to monitor blade conditions, detect damages early, optimize design, and boost performance. This increases energy production, reduces costs, and extends turbine lifespan.
The role is based near Herning, Denmark, with approximately 60 days of travel annually.
Your Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain, drive and identify new sales opportunities for an assigned portfolio of existing clients.
- Proactively identify and engage with new potential clients, building strong relationships and understanding their needs.
- Lead the entire sales cycle—from lead generation and prospecting to negotiation, deal closure, and contract signing.
- Collaborate with sales team members and other departments to ensure smooth client handovers and ongoing support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including large utilities, wind turbine OEMs, and wind turbine OEM service companies.
- Prepare compelling business proposals tailored to client needs, emphasizing our value proposition and competitive advantages.
- Deliver persuasive presentations and product demonstrations to key decision-makers, showcasing the benefits of our BM&O wind turbine solutions.
Additional Responsibilities
- Track and analyze sales performance, providing accurate forecasts, pipeline updates, and regular reports to the Director of Business Development – BM&O.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics, offering strategic recommendations based on insights.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive business development strategy for assigned customers and markets, aligning with Polytech and BM&O goals and objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or business administration with a strong understanding of technology.
- Proven track-record in technical business development and sales, ideally within the wind turbine industry.
- Proficient in English; fluency in German or an additional European languages is highly advantageous.
- Communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence decision makers.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and craft effective business development strategies.
- Pro-active and results-driven, capable of working independently and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
