About the Position
As Senior Manager for the Materials & Structural Engineering department at Polytech, you will play a key role in leading both people and technology. Your primary mission will be to develop talent, oversee technology development processes, and ensure successful execution of new technology and support projects. You will be responsible for shaping the department’s strategy and working collaboratively with Sales, Operations, and cross-functional teams in all our locations (Denmark, China, Mexico)
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
As our Senior Manager you will:
- Lead and develop the Materials & Structural Engineering team of 9 engineers with different technical backgrounds
- Conduct regular 1:1s, support personal development, and grow in-house talent
- Own and manage technology development and de-risking of new solutions
- Ensure new technology projects are executed on time and to the right quality level
- Provide technical support to Sales and Operations
- Allocate technical resources for production issues and 8D problem solving
- Support development of organizational structures and internal processes
- Contribute to strategic discussions on future technologies and capabilities
Your Qualifications and Skills
Professional:
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or similar
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a R&D environment
- Strong experience in:
- Blade materials and structures
- Mechanical and structural design
- Composites and steel structures
- Technical project management
- Design for Six Sigma, Agile methodologies, and 8D problem solving
Personal:
- Responsible, structured, and proactive
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for talent development
- Confident and adaptable in a dynamic, global organization
- Excellent communicator in English, both written and spoken
- Customer-oriented and a strong team player
- Curious, ambitious, and quick to learn
