Verification Engineer at Bureau Veritas

Do you want to make a difference as an engineer by contributing to maintaining the safety, reliability, and integrity of our clients’ assets throughout their life cycle. Then you should join Bureau Veritas and some of the strongest engineering professionals in the industry in this new role.

The role is highly important for the safety of the offshore assets present in the Danish sector of the North Sea. As part of our Verification Team, you will be based in our Esbjerg office.

About your new role and responsibility
As part of our client’s safety procedures, you will verify and check findings on- and offshore, to make sure that the client is adhering to all rules and regulations always maintaining the highest safety level.

You will handle a wide variety of verification assignments from gathering logs, materials, checking structural integrity designs, lifting equipment, electrical systems including UPS etc. This requires a full focused and engineering mindset to have the overall responsibility and a critical eye on the operability of the safety systems both on- and offshore.

The job will primarily require work from our office in Esbjerg, with some visits to our customers onshore and offshore. The typical involvement with offshore operations is approximately 5 trips of one week per year.

What makes the job interesting?
In today’s world there are constant modifications to safety designs. New installations and procedures emerge continuously, which demand us to always be on the forefront with the latest technologies and requirements.

Since Bureau Veritas is one of the leading Independent Verification providers in the world, you will work with our international internal network, our Technical Center placed in Paris, and peers based in The Netherlands and Aberdeen.

The role is highly important for the safety of the offshore assets present in the Danish sector of the North Sea. You will make a difference by contributing to maintaining the safety, reliability, and integrity of our clients’ assets throughout their life cycle.

Your background and experience
The ideal background would be a mix of engineering field experience combined with offshore maintenance experience. You are a curious, creative, and flexible risk engineer that knows about major hazards, risk preventing, offshore safety and the current offshore codes and practices.

You hold either a master’s degree in engineering (petroleum engineering, process engineering, electrical engineering, structural engineering etc.) and have some relevant years of experience from in or around the offshore industry or from industries requiring high safety levels.

As our new colleague you would fit the team well with a positive and solution-oriented mindset.
You are systematic, analytical, and able to convey your knowledge in an easy-to-understand language. You like to work in a multi-technical environment and are curious about new topics and likes to investigate on new areas.
You have a helicopter view, are pragmatic and you always give an opinion that is holistic towards (process) safety.

Who are we and what do we offer you?
The team is distributed across our offices in Denmark, and your 5 direct colleagues with offshore activities will be based with you in Esbjerg. We are very multicultural and have various backgrounds, but what is consistent for us all, is our willingness to collaborate and always learn from each other.

With one of the world's strongest brands behind you, you get the opportunity to make a difference in a global and sustainable company. Bureau Veritas is one of Denmark's leading certification companies, which annually conducts more than 7,500 company visits.
