Test Manager – Platform Integration within Data Engineering, Gdynia

Platform integration is a unit within Data Engineering at Group functions in Nordea. We are establishing our capabilities in Poland are looking for a test manager.  
 
You will participate in transformation projects ranging from changing our accounting interface to integrating core accounting engine into our new Core Banking and Payment platforms, and into new Treasury and Capital Markets systems. 
 
We are soon starting the execution phase of Nordea’s next generation accounting interface platform (Big data) and we need You to help us meet our business challenges. 

The position we offer

Data Engineering department is responsible for supporting technology for regulatory, business and finance reporting and strategically delivering Nordea’s next generation data services and data platform. 
 
Platform Integration unit is a part of Data engineering department and  is responsible for providing IT solutions related to integration and sourcing of data to the common information platform for further processing.  
 
As part of our strategy we plan to develop solutions enabling the integration of new core banking, new customer data and new payments platforms. 
 
The Test Manager is responsible for driving the quality assurance and testing within a programme lifecycle. A certain degree of involvement during the quality assurance and testing process is expected, as well as system integration and user acceptance testing process. In the current state the test manager should spend time in preparation work establishing test strategies and preparing the testing organisation. 
 
You Key responsibilities will include: 
  • Manage requirements and test case design  
  • Participate in developing test strategies, test plans and in any quality assurance artefacts 
  • Participate in the establishment of proper test environments, ensuring that quality requirements are met 
  • Work closely with developers to identify defects and resolutions  
  • Share quality assurance and testing expertise 
  • Analyse the business needs to identify opportunities for improved efficiency by developing the right quality assurance and testing frameworks 
  • Participate in improving existing test methodologies and practices currently being used within the unit 
  • Know the current System Development Process to act accordingly throughout all phases of the development in order to secure efficient and effective IT solutions 
  • Be involved in the testing process by verifying that requirements are implemented in accordance with business needs 
  • Communicate and educate in relevant technology expertise 

The qualifications you need

Many development services are done currently off-shore with other sourcing approaches currently under evaluation. For that reason, it is important that you are open to work cross-border/ cross-cultures within a global environment.   
 
We are looking for a person with strong commitment, drive and the ability to find good solutions to accomplish business requirements. Your daily work will vary between both operational and tactic work.  
 
You are expected to have coordination and technical skills combined with experiences from working with IT-related issues close to a business organisation. 
 
The position is preferably located in Gdynia. A certain level of travel to Nordic countries can be expected 
  • You have a relevant academic degree, in Finance, Computer Science or Engineering 
  • Experience in testing and quality assurance methodologies and best practices  
  • Experience in the creation and execution of manual test and automated test scripts 
  • Experience from projects running with Agile wow 
  • You have an extended experience in working in IT change initiatives 
  • Experience in Business Intelligence development and enterprise business systems 
  • Ability to understand IT solutions in Business Intelligence domain 
  • Fluent in the English language, both orally and in writing 

Desirable skills:

  • Certification in Quality assurance, Testing, Enterprise Architecture or any other software development standards  
  • Experience in working in a multi-provider and multi-cultural IT sourcing environment  
  • Prior banking or financial services experience, especially in a Global Systematic Important Bank (GSIB) like Nordea is or working within the platform integration aspects for banks 
  • Experience from Data projects preferably integrating transactional data systems  
  • Experience on new BI and Big data technologies
