ABOUT THE JOB
Reporting to the Freshwater Production Director the Broodstock Manager plays a key role in the business.
The main goal is to meet egg production targets. The main duties include, managing the team and the day to day husbandry and security of the broodstock, application of photoperiod and temperature regimens, the logistics of egg spawning, egg incubation and processing and the operational activities that support the breeding program; working with the Mowi Genetics Team to improve stock traits to meet production goals; manage all data collection, input, analysis and reporting; identify opportunities for improvement, investigate them in detail and present results in a form that allows the wider business value to be determined.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate would be safety oriented and forward-thinking with a passion for the industry. They would have:
- Minimum 3 years of aquaculture experience
- Preference for Broodstock experience
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including experience in teambuilding and goal setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Aquaculture or similar
- Excellent Project Management Skills
- Ability to problem solve
- Competency in Microsoft Office software
- Good verbal and written communication skills
