Junior Energy Trader

Global Risk Management (GRM) is an international energy trading company and a leading provider of customised energy price risk management solutions - we are now looking for a Junior Energy Trader to join our growing team. An established company in rapid growth

Founded in 2004 with offices in Denmark, Singapore, and Houston, GRM combines its deep knowledge of energy markets, finance, and transport to guide and help our clients with customised energy price hedging solutions. The energy trading activities sit within our Unitrading division which engages in market making towards our clients and facilitates trading around the physical assets of the USTC group. At GRM, you will be joining an internationally diverse team of professionals in a business whose scope and reach continues to expand. This position will be based in our Middelfart office alongside USTC headquarters in the centre of Denmark.

Job responsibilities

As Junior Energy Trader you will join an experienced and established energy trading desk, within an international company with access to physical assets and an extensive client base. The Middelfart team are traders with 20+ years of experience across commodities and capital markets and you will be supporting them in their day-to-day trading activities as well as assisting in the development of new trading systems, risk management and trading processes. You will become part of a truly global workplace trading oil products, bio-fuels, carbon, power and natural gas across Europe in collaboration with GRM’s other trading desks which cover the Middle East, Asian and US markets.

Your responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Real time price curve management
  • Diligent and accurate position keeping
  • Trade valuation and market execution
  • Research and market analysis
  • Development of new proprietary trading strategies and alternatives to new fuels.

A profile with willingness to learn and develop

You possess a bachelor’s or preferably a master’s degree in mathematics, sciences, finance, engineering or other relevant discipline with 0-2 years of experience. You would thrive in a fast-paced work environment and in a role requiring critical thinking. As an individual you are a self starter with positive energy, keen to learn and develop and have a strongly collaborative mindset.
