As the HSE Manager, your primary responsibility will be to seamlessly integrate HSE principles into all our operational activities and tasks. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in supporting Muehlhan Wind Service in developing and enhancing our systems, contributing to the continuous improvement of our processes and protocols.

In this role, you will also support HSE performance and be an important player in shaping the future of HSE standards and performance within Muehlhan Wind Service. Your expertise and leadership will be vital in ensuring that our operations comply with all relevant laws and company policies.

This is a full-time position based at our North Shields office in the UK. 

Please note, interviews for this role are due to be held in August.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) for all operational activities, including lifting operations, across all business units within the organisation.
  • Develop and deliver robust HSE documentation (RAMS, Permits, Project plans, COSHH assessments, Safety Alerts).
  • Lead and follow up on proactive HSE initiatives and campaigns.
  • Train, support, and coach colleagues both in back-office and on-site.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Behavioural Based Safety.
  • Conduct site inspections according to company standards.
  • Register, analyse, and implement improvements and preventive actions based on performance reviews and inspections.
  • Develop a robust collaborative culture with internal and external partners.
  • Support HSEQ functions including audits, rescue setups, investigations, and MWS processes.
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure effective preventive actions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE standards across UK offices and warehouses to ensure compliance with legislation and company policies.

Essential Requirements

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and a solid work ethic.
  • Have extensive experience in the wind industry.
  • Be experienced with investigation methodologies such as Ishikawa or 5 Whys.
  • Be comfortable reading and understanding technical specifications and standards.
  • Have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude towards others.
  • Possess a problem-solving mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Be robust, calm, and balanced under pressure.
  • Have a good knowledge of ISO systems.
  • Be highly motivated and thrive in an independent role.
  • Be proficient in using common IT tools.
  • Have strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to work.
