JOB DESCRIPTION

The Compliance Manager supports the Legal Affairs department. The Compliance Manager is referring to the Head of Compliance, with whom he/she has regular contact in his/her daily work. It is the Legal Affairs department’s job to provide on-time stellar support for the organization's business units and staff functions.

The Compliance Manager is a driver and stakeholder in ensuring that the company excels in global mobility as well as managing compliance during implementation by companies from the group their projects in various locations.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement compliance programs and policies.
  • Supporting and attending project preparation meetings and project start-ups with information about country-specific schemes and legislation, working time regulations, registration requirements, required training, etc.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential compliance risks.
  • Provide training and support to employees on compliance-related matters.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address compliance issues.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports both internal as well as to regulatory authorities as required.
  • Managing and coordinating the compliance aspects among others in regard required licenses, certifications, permits.
  • Ensuring and managing compliance in relation to projects and country presence.
  • Stay up to date with changes in change of law, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

 

Occasionally responsibilities:

  • Supporting the global mobility aspects, including visa processes.

 

Essential requirements:

  • Certified lawyer holding a university master’s degree in law and having several years of previous working experience in the field of law
  • A high degree of initiative and personal responsibility, strong analytical skills as well as high communication skills, flexibility and openness as well as thoroughness
  • The ability to present complex issues in a comprehensible and appropriate manner
  • Excellent critical thinking and evaluation skills
  • Must as a person be a team player with a positive mindset, that is capable of working both independently and in team-environments
  • Must possess strong social skills, enabling the Compliance Manager to manage dialogue with stakeholders from various functions, and through dialogue and cooperation to succeed with its tasks
  • Fluent in oral and written English
  • It will be a plus having experience in the wind industry
  • Preferably based in Portugal
