KYOCERA UNIMERCO Tooling OY is already successfully operating in Finland providing tool solutions to the wood and metal industry.

We are now looking to expand our team with a new colleague who will maintain and develop our sale of Kyocera indexable tools and manufactured special solid tools in Finland as well as assist our distributors with technical and sales support to end-users within the metal industry.

External Sales Engineer 
As our new External Sales Engineer you will have the opportunity to use your knowledge of the customer's finished parts and machining processes to develop the sales area and growing profitable business from existing and new accounts in Finland, identifying and targeting new business opportunities for KYOCERA UNIMERCO tooling solutions, by offering an extensive range of tools from KYOCERA based on Carbide, Ceramic, Cermet, PCD, CBN, CVD etc.   

You will report to the Vice President and be supported by our product specialists and Tech Centre as well. You will on a daily basis work primarily on your own, managing your own working day and appointments, maintaining regular contacts with customers, preparing quotes and efficiently resolving tooling application queries.  

You will furthermore have the support of your external college and internal customer service team, who shares your enthusiasm for the KYOCERA brand and excellent customer service. 

Skills, Experience, Attitude 

  • You probably have a history of working within the cutting tool industry with a good background in technical sales managing a successful sales territory. It will be an advantage to have experience from the industry either from a sales position or alternatively from a position in a manufacturing company where you have acquired technical experience and have the drive and personality to make a move into a sales position. 
  • Alternatively, you might not have a technical background – but instead have at least 3-5 years’ experience from another external sales position within the industry, where you have proven great sales results by working with sales excellence combined with a natural flair and interest for selling technical products.
  • We expect you to demonstrate excellent negotiation abilities and commercial awareness with the enthusiasm to strive for better results and achieve new sales. 
  • You are self-motivated with strong communication skills. You will have the full sales and market responsibility within your own sales territory and must be able to create lasting relationships with distributors and within purchasing, production and management departments of the end-users. 
  • Ability to interpret sales reports and spreadsheets, a reasonably high level of English language skills as well as possessing a full driving license are all essential requirements of the role.
  • Your place of living is not important, but you will visit customers all over Finland, and some travel activities will also be required in connection with education and sales meetings in Finland and abroad.
